Account & Data Deletion
Delete your BillAfrik account
Request deletion of your account and the data tied to it — no login required. This page works even if you've lost access to the app.
How to request deletion
Clear your wallet balance
Your wallet must be at ₦0 before deletion can proceed — withdraw or transfer out any remaining funds from inside the app first. This is enforced automatically; the request below is rejected until your balance is zero.
Enter your account email and password
This proves the request is actually coming from you. No login or app access is needed — this page works even if you've been locked out or uninstalled the app.
Confirm the request
Your account is deactivated immediately: you won't be able to sign back in, and no one can send you money or find your profile on BillAfrik anymore.
Want everything fully erased, or can't access your password?
Email support@mail.billafrik.com from the address on your account. Our team will verify it's you and process a full erasure request, subject to the retention notes below.
What happens to your data
Submitting this request deactivates your account right away. It does not instantly erase your records — here's exactly what's removed versus what's kept, and why.
Removed immediately
Ability to log in to BillAfrik on web or mobile
Your visibility to other users — no one can find your profile, send you money, or add you as a beneficiary
Any pending or future ability to fund, spend, or transfer from your wallet
Retained, not erased
Profile details
name, email, phone, username — kept so the account record stays complete and so support can locate it if you ask for restoration or erasure.
Wallet & transaction history
every funding, purchase, transfer, and withdrawal record — Nigerian financial record-keeping rules require payment platforms to retain this even after an account closes.
Identity verification records
NIN/BVN submissions and KYC tier history — retained for the same regulatory reason; these are already excluded from routine account queries.
Bank account & beneficiaries
any payout bank account and saved beneficiaries stay attached to the account record.
Support tickets & notifications
your past support conversations and in-app notification history.
Devices & security records
remembered-device and login-security history tied to the account.
Retention period
Deactivation alone doesn't start a countdown to automatic erasure — the records above are kept for as long as Nigerian financial record-keeping regulations require payment platforms to retain them, which can extend well beyond when your account was active. They are not visible to other users and are not used for any new purpose once your account is deactivated. If you'd like a full erasure instead of deactivation, email support@billafrik.com — we'll process it to the extent those regulations allow.
Submit your request
Can't remember your password, or deleting on someone else's behalf? Email support@mail.billafrik.com from the account's own address and our team will verify your identity before processing it manually. Already logged in? You can also do this from Settings → Security inside the app.
